DESCRIPTION
HMG Unbound 40 - the Unbound packs are designed to make life on long trails as efficient and comfortable as possible. Born from thousands of thru-hiking miles, the Unbound 40 has now been completely redesigned – lighter, stronger and more comfortable than the original, without losing any of the trail-proven features that made it a favourite on the world's longest trails.
What's new? The updated build uses the exceptionally durable Dyneema® Woven Composite 3.9, bringing the weight down to just 774 grams (size medium) while adding strength where it matters. Two contoured, removable aluminum stays replace the single stay for noticeably better support under heavier loads – up to 18 kg. Wider shoulder straps with a more natural curve around your neck and a refined removable hip belt carry the weight day in and day out. Internal seam taping and low-profile sewn-in daisy chains create a cleaner, streamlined construction with no exterior binding, and a fully removable, customizable compression system with shockcord and hook makes it easy to secure trekking poles or oversized water bottles.
What stays the same? Everything thru-hikers loved about the first Unbound: the dual-entry Dyneema stretch mesh front pocket, oversized side pockets you can reach without taking the pack off, the bottom stash pocket and the intuitive V-Pull hip belt. The roll-top closure keeps your load compact, stable and protected from the elements. Efficiency is the key to happy hiking – and everything about the Unbound 40 encourages forward momentum.

MODULARITY
A removable side compression shockcord system with an adjustable hook secures trekking poles or oversized water bottles – and comes off entirely when you don't need it.
